A Chronology of Important Events in Our History
1991
First ‘Have a snack! ™’ Customers (20) provided with snacks. Cot Death sponsorship commenced.
1992
Main Office moved from Hamilton to Auckland. First franchise sold, on Auckland’s North Shore to Mike & Jill Elliot.
1993
First South Island franchise established. Cold drink service introduced.
1994
First National ‘Have a snack! ™’ Conference held in Taupo, NZ, ‘Have a snack! ™’ Franchise Council established.
1995
First Australian franchise established in Queensland. First full time Business Development Manager employed, first full time Chartered Accountant employed.
1996
‘Have a snack! ™’ Marketing Fund established. ‘Have a snack! ™’ brand and Big Bickies® introduced.
1997
ETA and Coke Contracts inaugurated. ‘Have a snack! ™’ brand Twin Bickies® introduced.
1998
Computerised ‘Have a snack & Drink! ™’ Customer Management System™ introduced.
1999
Tea, Coffee & Sugar Refreshment Service introduced, Regional Conferences introduced.
2000
Major revamp merchandising units, new logo & branding, sponsorship of Special Olympics introduced. Superior Vending Co bought out.
2001
Name changed to ‘Have a snack & Drink! ™’, 50th Franchise established. Frucor vending machines introduced. Event trailer has first outing, "The Great Race” inaugurated.
2002
Biggest ‘Have a snack & Drink! ™’ National Conference ever, biggest event ever attended (Parachute Festival), highest summer cold drink sales ever recorded. Snack Attack bought out.
2003
Over 100 attend the ‘Have a snack & Drink! ™’ Annual Conference. The provender® name is launched. New Extranet launched. provender® Rewards Programme commences for Franchise Owners.
2004
150 attendees at the largest ever Provender Franchise Annual Conference in Rotorua. ‘Have a snack! ™’ CHOCO-BLOC™ brand Chocolate bars launched in 3 variants. New Lifestyle- Balance™ branding and merchandising introduced.
2005
Lolly Box franchise added. First Combi-Vend™ machines imported for distribution. New Premium Products range extended across all facets. 160 attend Annual Provender Conference in Auckland at the Stamford Plaza Hotel.
2006
2nd Largest ever Provender Annual Franchise Conference takes place at Wairakei Resort, Taupo. Coffee vending franchise added to complement existing vending options. 2 independent vending operators transfer to provender®.
2007
First Provender Espresso Coffee Solutions™ Franchise launched. Major Conference at Waipuna hotel, Auckland, New Zealand.
2008
Provender purchases Australasian Vending 24seven® subsequently further expanding the reach of this successful vending enterprise!
2009
First Provender International Conference takes place at Rydges Hotel, Christchurch - 250 Attend
2010
Second Provender International Conference takes place at the Hyatt, Auckland - 250 Attend
2011
Provender New Zealand and Provender Australia separated with Conference taking place in NZ and only NZ Franchise Owners attending - Rendezvous Auckland
2011
Separate Vending Machine & Coffee Machine importing and maintenance division established
2012
Provender New Zealand Annual Conference Distinction, Rotorua - 170 Attend
2013
Provender New Zealand Annual Conference Pullman, Auckland - 130 Attend
